About Me
I am neurodivergent and a psychologist who is passionate about providing mental health treatment that empowers people to enjoy a life that aligns with their values and aspirations.
My approach to psychological treatment is individualised, collaborative, and evidence-based. It is trauma-informed and neurodivergence-affirming.
In therapy I work with therapeutic techniques from interventions such as cognitive-behavioural, metacognitive, schema, interpersonal, mentalisation, attachment, psychodynamic, and acceptance and commitment therapies. I value creating a therapeutic relationship that allows people to feel safe to explore and express their inner experiences while also providing practical strategies and problem-solving skills that allow my clients to create and maintain the change they seek in their lives.
I have provided therapy and skills training to people for a range of difficulties including complex trauma, PTSD, executive dysfunction, extreme perfectionism (OCPD), anxiety, birth trauma, adjustment to parenthood, and emotion-focused parenting psychoeducation. I also support individuals who are neurodivergent with learning how to understand, accept, and work with their neurodivergence rather than ‘treating’ it.
I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults delivering psychological support across settings such as inpatient and outpatient women’s health, outpatient children’s health, child and adolescent trauma in the community, forensic services, and private practice. In addition to having taught undergraduate and postgraduate psychology, I’ve conducted research within police, healthcare, and aged care industries, as well as publishing academic papers.
